According to the military, forces were dispatched to the area after receiving a report that several suspects had thrown stones at Israelis, set tires on fire, and blocked an access road.
Upon arrival, troops received reports that gunfire had been directed at Israelis. No injuries were reported.
The IDF says dozens of suspects were identified throwing stones, and that one attacker ran toward the forces holding a large rock. The military says troops first fired warning shots into the air and then opened fire at the assailant, killing him.
Security forces are continuing to search the area and have imposed roadblocks and a cordon on the village in an effort to apprehend suspects involved in the incident.
