After a long day of driving and adventuring amongst the backdrop of the southern sand dunes, who wouldn’t love a melt-in-your mouth pulled brisket sandwich? What about crispy-sweet chili wings with an ice cold draft beer?
We were driving down to Mitzpe Ramon and we were hungry. But we weren’t gas station potato chips hungry, we were “WE NEED PROTEIN” hungry. We had been hiking all day and still had at least an hour drive until we got to our Airbnb. The sun was just beginning to set.
We got a recommendation from a friend for a smokehouse, so we stopped in. Welcome to Fernando’s. It’s the sort of place that you would never go to – or even see – if you weren’t told about it. It’s a locals-focused meatfest with great vibes and refreshing AC. There’s cold beer flowing to boot. We got an asado sandwich that was mouthwatering. Definitely recommend.
This place did not disappoint. When we go on our next trip down south, we’ll for sure stop here again. Just don’t be surprised if you find it hard to pick just one thing off the menu.
Bonus: They are kosher, and open until 10 p.m.
