Netanyahu pays bedside visit to Peres

President recovering from hernia operation, thanks well-wishers

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a visit to President Shimon Peres at the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, Saturday evening. Peres is in the hospital recovering from a successful operation.

The prime minister told Peres that he looked well and that the citizens of Israel wish him a speedy recovery.

The 88-year-old president’s was suffering with a hernia that was diagnosed during his state visit to Canada last week.

Peres, who sent thanks to his well-wishers, is expected to be released from the hospital on Sunday and return to his duties.
