A resident of Abu Ghosh was arrested on Thursday for extorting money from drivers who “hurt” him as he jumped in front of their moving vehicles, Walla News reported. The man denied the accusations against him.

Allegedly, the suspect flung himself in the path of the moving cars, and pretended he was hit by them. When the drivers stopped, he faked injuries and asked for cash compensation on the spot, the police said.

There were three confirmed cases in which the man managed to get hundreds of shekels, but it was likely that there were other unreported incidents not yet known, the news outlet reported.
