When COVID was “ending” and so was my patience for living in a city, I decided to take myself and all my belongings and move to the Western Galilee. I set up shop in a small ecological village called Kadita, and where I lived, there weren’t any grocery stores or bars in site.
Naturally, I had to find all the places within 15 minutes of my village where I could find the things I needed and was quickly introduced to the magical place of Rosh Pina.

Located North of the Sea of Galilee, Rosh Pina is a gem in and of itself. A beautiful town among the “mountains” of the North, Rosh Pina has the feeling of the countryside with the convenience of a city. Near Safed and Meron and not far from the Jordan River, you may find yourself here looking for a place to sit for a small bite or to drink up some good vibes, on a road trip or just on the way to or from an adventure.
Where did we go when we wanted to chat with strangers, have a beer and soak up the authentic energy of Northern Israel? The one and only Tangerine Bar. At this bar, everyone is welcome, they have good beer, nice cocktails, very yummy pizza, and special events during the week. My favorite night, without a doubt, was Open Jam night on Tuesday night. It’s filled with local musicians always, but especially on Tuesday; come and join a set, or just sit and listen. There’s a cozy indoor area with a spunky vibe, and an outside area with heat lamps for the winter, Tangerine is a gem all year round.

But if you really want to feel like a local, go on a Tuesday and have a song or two in mind. You’ll surely find someone to jam out with you.
