Horovitz discusses Trump’s deal-making proclivities — effective in securing the release of the last living and dead hostages from Hamas, but facing intractable dilemmas in Gaza, where Hamas is not disarming, with Hezbollah in Lebanon, and with the Islamic regime still emphatically ruling Iran.
After Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared that former prime minister Naftali Bennett’s decision to include the Islamist Ra’am party in his 2021-2022 government was far worse than the governmental failures tied to Hamas’s October 7, 2023, onslaught, Horovitz comments on Smotrich’s and other ministers’ hostility to political rivals, absence of empathy for bereaved Israelis, and abiding refusal to take responsibility for the October 7 catastrophe.
Finally, Horovitz reflects on last week’s Golders Green stabbing attack, one of the rising tide of violent antisemitic incidents all over the Jewish diaspora, and how the British government is handling the crisis.
