Gazans say overnight Israeli bombardment was the heaviest since fighting began

Residents of Gaza are describing an overnight Israel barrage as the heaviest since the fighting in the Hamas-ruled enclave began a week ago.

There is no immediate word on the casualties from the latest strikes. A three-story building in Gaza City was heavily damaged, but residents say the military warned them 10 minutes before the strike and everyone cleared out. They say many of the airstrikes hit nearby farmland.

The Israel Defense Forces has said the massive strikes hit 15 kilometers of the Hamas terror group’s underground tunnel system in northern Gaza, among other targets.
