Liberman dismisses US peace efforts, says long-term interim deal the only option
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleDefense Minister Avigdor Liberman dismisses US efforts to achieve a full Israeli-Palestinian peace deal, saying that at present, a long-term interim agreement is the only possible way forward.
“We really appreciate all American efforts to bring resolution to us and the Palestinians. But with all due respect to the US and their investments and efforts, there’s no alternative to direct talks between the two sides,” he says at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference.
“Everybody who speaks about final-status agreement doesn’t understand reality. What is possible to achieve is a long-term interim agreement, not more,” he says
What is crucial is first of all to stop incitement and to upgrade the Palestinian economy,” Liberman adds.
