Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski says Poland is examining whether to continue allowing the annual Holocaust education trips in which Israeli high schoolers visit Nazi death camps that operated in the country.

“The trips do not take place in a proper manner. They sometimes instill hatred for Poland in the heads of young Israelis,” says Jablonski. “We will make the right decisions about these trips. We deal with anti-Polish sentiment in Israel, and one of the reasons for this is the way in which Israeli youth are educated and raised.”

The statement comes after Israel lambasted Poland for approving legislation that would effectively prevent heirs to property seized by the Nazis during World War II from claiming restitution.
