US President Donald Trump will meet with the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates during the G7 summit in France next week, senior US administration officials tells reporters.
The leaders of the three Middle East countries were invited to the G7 summit along with India, and will each hold bilateral meetings with the US president, the official says.
The official says Trump will discuss efforts to end the war with Iran, as well as plans to demine the Strait of Hormuz.
Britain and France, both G7 members, have expressed interest in assisting with de-mining the critical waterway once the conflict is paused. The US official notes that both already have some military vessels at sea that could participate in the de-mining process.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not expected to attend the summit, which is set to take place amid optimism that a deal to end the war with Iran could be signed within days.

As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
