Among the Jews arrested were some who allegedly yelled racist slogans.

Ynet reported reported earlier in the evening that four of the Arabs were arrested on charges of throwing objects and assault.

Two Palestinians were arrested earlier in the day following an unauthorized protest near the Old City’s Damascus Gate against Jewish control of Jerusalem.

Some 30,000 people took part in the annual Jerusalem Day march around the Old City. The march, which streams through the Old City’s Muslim Quarter on the way to the Western Wall, has in the past sparked tensions between Jews and Arabs.

Last year saw 24 people arrested, many of them for shouting racist slogans. Organizers this year had promised to crack down on anti-Arab incitement.
