Dozens of Palestinian protesters gathered Sunday on Nevi’im Street outside the Damascus Gate of the Old City to demonstrate against the unification of Jerusalem.

Police say the demonstration was unauthorized and the protesters were asked to leave. When they refused, a short altercation ensued and they were forcefully removed. Two were arrested.

The protesters also clashed with Jewish right-wing activists who were celebrating Jerusalem Day, marking the 45th anniversary of the reunification of the capital. The protesters threw sharp objects at the celebrants, Ynet reported.
