Dalia Rabin, the daughter of assassinated prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, believes that Hagai Amir, the brother of her father’s assassin, should not be released from jail on Friday as scheduled.

“I think that a responsible leadership in the State of Israel must say its piece — that people like that should be behind bars forever, or should at least be shunned,” Rabin told the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on Thursday.

Hagai Amir, 44, is completing a 16.5-year sentence for conspiring with his brother, Yigal Amir, in the killing of then-prime minister Rabin in 1995.
