Ministers decide IDF, Shin Bet to help deal with illegal weapons in Arab community
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA panel of ministers tasked with battling rampant crime in the Arab community has ended its first meeting, a statement says, adding that it has been decided that the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency will be involved in a new effort to tackle the proliferation of illegal weapons within the community.
The Justice Ministry will promote legislation handing enforcement bodies more legal means, including a minimum punishment for possession of weapons and trade in weapons.
The implementation of the new plan will be immediate.
