US embassy lifts ‘shelter in place’ order issued last night for staff
The US Embassy in Jerusalem lifts an order it issued last night to its staff and their families to shelter in place ahead of the mass Iranian missile attack on Israel.
The newest update notes that “the threat of missile barrages has diminished,” and following the easing of restrictions by the IDF Home Front Command, “the shelter in place order for US government employees and their family members has been lifted.”
Nevertheless, it says, “previous travel restrictions” on employees remain in place, which warn against any travel outside the greater Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Beersheba areas. It also reiterates that “mortar and rocket fire and [drone] intrusions often take place without any warning” and that staff should remain alert.
