Air congestion over Greece causing delays in flights leaving Ben Gurion, says IAA

The Israel Airports Authority says in a statement that air traffic congestion over Greece will lead to delays in departing flights from Ben Gurion Airport for the next few hours.
“Following air traffic congestion over Greece, the Greek aviation authorities are currently limiting the number of flights permitted to pass through Greek airspace on their way to Europe,” the IAA says. “As a result, delays are expected for some flights departing from Ben Gurion Airport in the coming hours.”
August is one of the busiest months for air travel in Israel, with many families flying for summer vacations around the globe. The IAA said that close to 100,000 people are slated to pass through the airport each day.
