Thousands of pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel demonstrators march through central London to the British parliament, calling for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza-Israel war.

Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted: “End the genocide” and “Free, free Palestine.”

The demonstration, organized by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), also passed a pro-Israel counter-protest that featured portraits of some of the hostages seized in Hamas’s October 7 attack on southern Israel that triggered the war.

The protest came as Israeli forces rescued four of the hostages alive from a Gaza refugee camp.

US President Joe Biden announced last week what he described as an Israeli proposal for a hostage-ceasefire deal. Hamas has not yet formally responded to the proposal, but officials in the terror group have reiterated their insistence that any agreement must guarantee an end to the war, a demand Israel has repeatedly ruled out.
