The so-called Tinder Swindler, fraudster Shimon Hayut, tells Israel’s Channel 12 he is currently making a film that will serve as an answer to the Netflix documentary about his fraudulent exploits and their victims.
“It’s a documentary from my point of view,” says Hayut, who presents himself as Simon Leviev. “There will be things that haven’t been seen — otherwise there’d no point in the film.”
Asked if there will be a happy ending, he says: “For me there’ll be a happy ending — no doubt.”
So he won’t be jailed? “No, no, no,” he says, speaking from Tel Aviv, where he is said to be currently filming. “That’s the script for a horror movie, and we’re making a documentary.”
He adds, paraphrasing former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refrain on his own criminal allegations: “The reality might sound familiar: There’ll be nothing [proven against me], because there is nothing.”
