US announces new sanctions against Hamas, Islamic State
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe US says it is imposing new sanctions on a “wide range of terrorists and their supporters,” including Hamas and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Reuters reports.
The statement comes on the eve of the 18th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
“The sanctions targeted 15 leaders, individuals and entities affiliated with groups including Hamas, al-Qaeda, Islamic State and Iran’s IRGC,” Reuters says, citing a US Treasury Department statement.
