Chefs meets with Health Ministry officials to chew over restaurant closures
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleRepresentatives of the Restaurateurs Association held a meeting this evening with health ministry deputy director-general Itamar Grotto and Sigal Sadetsky, head of public health at the ministry, to discuss ways to allow restaurants in Israel to reopen next week, Channel 12 reports.
The chefs and restaurateurs presented a model they say will allow restaurants to open by May 20. The restaurateurs say tables will be spaced out, servers will wear masks, utensils will be disinfected at high temperatures and staff and guests will have their temperatures taken.
Celebrity chef Haim Cohen who hosted the meeting at his Jaffa-Tel Aviv restaurant warns that further closures will kill off the restaurant business in Israel.
