The death toll from the global coronavirus pandemic has passed 300,000 according to a count by the Johns Hopkins University.
As of writing, the university has counted 300,315 deaths worldwide.
The worst affected country is the United States with 85,066 fatalities, followed by the United Kingdom with 33,692 deaths and Italy with 31, 368.
China, where the outbreak began in late December last year, has seen 4,637 deaths.
The total number of confirmed cases worldwide is 4,408, 618.
According to the Johns Hopkins count, cases have been confirmed in 188 countries.
