Smotrich: Mechanism to thwart PM’s trial from moving forward would be ‘great’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe head of the Religious Zionism Party, MK Bezalel Smotrich, says he would support legislation to thwart the prime minister’s criminal trial.
Smotrich tells Walla News he would support legislation that delays the proceedings until after Netanyahu leaves office.
“If there is a good and proper mechanism to strengthen democracy and integrity and that will also stop Netanyahu’s trial, I think that’s great,” he says.
“Compared to the need to run a country, the need to carry out justice can wait for after the term of office.”
