ANU Museum to honor immigrants on Aliyah Day with fair, tours, music

The ANU Museum of the Jewish People will mark Aliyah Day on October 29, celebrating new and veteran immigrants.

The Tel Aviv event, a joint collaboration with Nefesh B’Nefesh, the Nadav Foundation, the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Ezra youth movement, will be held in English, Spanish, French and Russian.

Last year, more than 300 new and veteran immigrants took part in the Aliyah Day event, according to the museum.

“Choosing to leave your home and establish a new life in Israel — especially now — is an act of great courage and devotion,” said Oded Revivi, museum CEO. “Each immigrant and family is a world unto themselves, and together we form the shared story of the Jewish people in Israel and around the world.”

On Aliyah Day, the ANU lobby will host a fair featuring a wide range of small businesses owned by new and veteran immigrants. Guided tours of the museum will be offered in the four above languages, but not in Hebrew.

Guests will also be able to watch archival footage from the museum’s Oster Visual Documentation Center, depicting the various waves of immigration to Israel throughout the years.

In the evening, the museum will host roundtable discussions in different languages, bringing together veteran and new immigrants to share personal stories, reflections, and humorous moments.

The roundtable discussions will conclude with a musical performance in the museum lobby — a journey through the classic Israeli soundtrack.
