Einav Zangauker hints at possible political run, demands state inquiry

Einav Zangauker, mother of released hostage Matan Zangauker, hints that she may seek a role in politics, saying she wants to be among Israel’s decision-makers and vowing to continue public pressure on the government, according to Hebrew media reports.

Speaking at a “Tikva” event led by social and political activist Yaya Fink, Zangauker says she does not yet know where she will stand in the next election campaign, but stresses that “the struggle here still needs to be waged.”

Hebrew media quotes Zangauker as saying she would like “to be among the decision-makers in the country,” arguing that the current leadership is “failing” and attempting to evade responsibility. She says she and others would not wait quietly for elections, and demands the immediate establishment of a state commission of inquiry.
