Far-right lawmaker Avi Maoz, the sole MK representing the anti-LGBTQ, misogynistic Noam party, accuses US President Donald Trump of “advancing a Palestinian terror state in Judea and Samaria,” the Biblical name for the West Bank.

Maoz’s statement comes on the heels of a joint statement by several nations, organized by Washington, which said that Trump’s plan for post-war Gaza “offers a pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood.”

In a tweet, Maoz also accuses Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “full-right-wing government” of working to halt the advancement of his bill to apply Israeli sovereignty to all West Bank settlements to its first reading in the Knesset plenum.

Maoz’s bill was approved in a preliminary reading in late October despite Netanyahu’s opposition. The vote was boycotted by all members of Netanyahu’s Likud party except for MK Yuli Edelstein, who was removed from his seat on the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee after casting the decisive vote in favor.

After being approved, Maoz’s bill was referred to the committee for further consideration. It is highly unlikely that Netanyahu will allow it to pass into law.

Earlier this week, Maoz appealed to committee chairman Boaz Bismuth (Likud) not to delay the bill.
