Internet service returns to Gaza after three-day blackout

The internet is back up in the Gaza Strip, the head of the Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority tells AFP, after a three-day blackout blamed on Israel’s military.

“The network is up now in all of the Gaza Strip,” the telecom agency’s CEO Laith Daraghmeh says, after the Palestinian Authority’s telecommunications ministry had reported internet and fixed-line communications were down as Israeli forces on Thursday targeted a fiber optic cable, a claim Israel has not commented on.
