State-run Israel Aerospace Industries has named Guy Barlev as chief executive to replace Boaz Levy, who became chairman in May, it says.
Barlev, a retired brigadier general, served as executive vice president and the general manager of IAI’s Systems Missiles & Space Group for the past six years, having joined IAI in 2016.
IAI, one of Israel’s largest defense contractors, says that Barlev headed the group that was responsible for a range of groundbreaking technological developments and systems critical to the defence of Israel.
His appointment requires government approval.
The state is planning a partial privatization of IAI as early as this year.
