Khamenei’s office dismisses letter from Gallant as ‘full-scale psychological operation’

The office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issues a rare response to a letter written several days ago by former defense minister Yoav Gallant.

According to a translation from the Iran International news site, Khamenei dismisses Gallant’s letter as propaganda and a “full-scale psychological operation.”

The former defense minister’s claims, Khamenei’s office writes in an op-ed on his official website, are part of “a conflict whose primary battlefield is not border zones, but public perception and the realm of awareness.”

Last week Gallant wrote an open letter to Khamenei, published on his Substack newsletter, asserting that Israel had engineered “the strategic collapse of a system you spent four decades constructing” in its 12-day aerial campaign last month.

“You can rebuild your proxies. But we will destroy them. We can now dismantle in months what took you decades to build,” he added. “You can accelerate nuclear development. But what you build, we will likely see. What we see, we will strike. And what we strike, you will struggle to replace.”
