Former transportation minister and Likud MK Miri Regev says the soon-to-open light rail system in the Tel Aviv area will not operate on Shabbat.

The outgoing minister Merav Michaeli had vowed last month that the rail would run on Saturdays.

Speaking to Channel 12 news, Regev says the rail will not operate on Shabbat, but she does not confirm if she will even return to the Transportation Ministry to order such a move.
