New York Governor Kathy Hochul condemns a pro-Hamas protest that took place in Queens last night.
Hochul shares The Times of Israel’s footage of protesters chanting, “We support Hamas,” and says, “Hamas is a terrorist organization that calls for the genocide of Jews.”
“No matter your political beliefs, this type of rhetoric is disgusting, it’s dangerous, and it has no place in New York,” Hochul writes on X.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has not publicly commented.
Condemnation pours in from other elected leaders from New York and around the US, including City Council Speaker Julie Menin, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Jr., and the neighborhood’s Congressional representative, Grace Meng.
