Officer killed fighting in Gaza Friday, IDF announces

The IDF says Maj. (res.) Amishar Ben David was killed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday, bringing the toll of slain troops in the ground offensive against Hamas to 248.

Ben David, 43, was head of the Commando Brigade chief’s forward command team.

He was from the West Bank settlement of Eli.
