Report: Katz’s remarks about moving Gazans into ‘humanitarian’ zone is ‘hindering’ ceasefire talks
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleDefense Minister Israel Katz’s announcement yesterday that he had instructed the IDF to prepare to relocate the entire population of Gaza — more than 2 million people — into a so-called humanitarian zone in the southern Gaza Strip has caused problems in the ongoing ceasefire talks in Doha, the Kan public broadcaster reports, citing Palestinian sources involved in the negotiations.
It reports that the matter is “hindering” progress, as Hamas is heavily opposed to such a measure.
Nevertheless, the sources say that progress has been made in other areas, such as how humanitarian aid would enter the strip during a ceasefire.
