Reports of clashes between settlers, Palestinians near Ramallah

Extremist Israeli settlers are clashing with Palestinians near Beitin, close to Ramallah, Palestinian media reports.

The reported clashes come amid rising tensions in the West Bank over missing 14-year-old Benjamin Achimeir, who left a farm near the outpost of Malachei Shalom in the early morning hours of Friday morning to go shepherding. The sheep returned to “Gal Farm” without him, according to police.

Malachei Shalom is located near the West Bank town of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

In the subsequent hours, Palestinians said settlers rampaged in al-Mughayyir, shooting and setting houses and cars on fire and sparking clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers, in which a Palestinian man was killed and some 25 others were wounded.
