Palestinians fired two mortar shells at IDF soldiers who were patrolling along the border with the Gaza Strip on Thursday morning.

There were no reports of injuries to the soldiers or damage caused in the attack.

The IDF troops were in an area opposite the central Gaza Strip, near Khan Younis.

Hamas on Wednesday marked a year since Operation Pillar of Defense, a week-long war waged by Israel to curb rocket fire from the Palestinian-ruled coastal territory.
