Two Palestinians have been wounded in an alleged settler attack in the northern West Bank earlier today, Palestinian medics and media reports say.

The Palestinian Red Crescent says the pair, reported to have been beaten by Israelis near the village of Burqa, have been taken to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus for treatment.

The Palestinian Authority’s official Wafa news agency, citing a local activist, says the settlers who apparently carried out the assault came from the nearby illegal outpost of Homesh.

There is no immediate comment from Israeli authorities on the incident.

Recent months have seen a rise in attacks by settlers against Palestinians and Israeli security forces, especially in the northern West Bank.
