Hundreds of Ethiopian Jews demonstrate in Jerusalem, calling for relatives waiting to emigrate to be brought to Israel amid the fighting in Ethiopia’s Amhara region.

The demonstrators block an intersection near the Prime Minister’s Office and other government institutions, with scuffles breaking out as police move to disperse them.

Many of the protesters hold up photos of family members they are waiting to reunite with, along with signs accusing the government of discrimination in its efforts to bring them to Israel compared to immigrants fleeing the war in Ukraine.

“Justice for Gondar and Addis Ababa like justice for Ukraine,” organizers say in a statement.
