Prosecutors have filed papers declaring their intent to indict a Palestinian security prisoner for stabbing a guard at a prison in southern Israel, according to police.
A police statement says an investigation for attempted murder was opened earlier this month after the 29-year-old Gaza resident attacked and stabbed the guard with a shiv. The guard was injured and required medical treatment.
The suspect will remain in police custody until at least December 27 after a court extends his remand.
