IDF chief of staff holds first call with US counterpart

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi has held a first phone call with his US counterpart, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr.
Brown Jr. entered the role earlier this month.
The call, which took place yesterday, comes as Israel is fighting a war against Palestinian terror groups in the Gaza Strip.
IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says in the call, the US general “stated that he stands by the IDF.”
