IDF says it killed Hamas sniper who infiltrated Zikim military base on Oct. 7

The IDF says it killed a Hamas operative involved in the terror group’s October 7, 2023, onslaught on southern Israel, who had recently been planning attacks against troops operating in Gaza.
According to the military, Louay Hisham Mahmoud Basal, a sniper in Hamas’s Zeitoun Battalion in Gaza City, was killed in a strike on Friday.
An intelligence analysis found that Basal infiltrated the Zikim military base during the October 7 attacks, the IDF says.
The military says Basal had recently posed an “immediate threat” to troops operating in the area.
