Netanyahu said to have ordered Flag March redirected from flashpoints; Ohana opposed

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Jerusalem Day Flag March redirected from the Old City’s Damascus Gate, Israeli officials tell Hebrew media.

Public Security Minister Amir Ohana opposed the move, according to the Kan public broadcaster. The change was announced as the parade was already underway.

Channel 12 says Netanyahu made the decision on the basis of IDF and Shin Bet assessments, and “imposed” it on the police.
