‘Oslo on steroids’: Bennett slams government for Gush Etzion terror attack

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett blames the government for today’s deadly terror attack at the Gush Etzion Junction in the West Bank.
“Oslo on steroids,” he declares in a statement, which appears to refer to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s support of a UN Security Council vote yesterday to adopt a resolution that discusses a pathway to Palestinian statehood. The resolution’s focus was authorizing the establishment of an International Stabilization Force in Gaza under US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan for the territory.
“A government that, after the most horrific massacre in the country’s history, awards the enemy the prize of a Palestinian state bears responsibility for reigniting terrorism against Jews. We will fix it soon,” says Bennett, who is considered Netanyahu’s most credible challenger in elections due to take place next year.
The Oslo Accords in the 1990s created the Palestinian Authority to administer parts of the West Bank and Gaza. Netanyahu and his government have rejected the establishment of a Palestinian state, but the premier’s support of the UN Security Council resolution has sparked protest from right-wing allies.
