Police deny using tear gas, say protesters did it
Police deny reports that they had used tear gas during the evacuation of the Amona synagogue, saying the protesters had, in fact, used it against them.
“We would like to stress, that despite the reports, police officers did not use this type of measure,” a police spokesperson says.
“A number of police officers were even injured from the tear gas and suffered light wounds,” she adds.
The spokesperson shares a photograph of a container of tear gas that was found inside the synagogue.
