Report: IDF avoids deployment of combat support system to Haredi outpost in Lebanon over presence of women

The IDF has prevented the deployment of an unspecified “key combat support system” to a military outpost in southern Lebanon manned by ultra-Orthodox soldiers from the Hasmonean Brigade, allegedly over concerns about the presence of female soldiers, Haaretz reports.

According to the report, soldiers told the outlet that senior officers decided against deploying the system to the outpost because the unit operating it is partially made up of women, while the ultra-Orthodox troops stationed at the outpost avoid interaction with the opposite sex for religious reasons.

The military denies the claim, telling Haaretz that the system was assigned to a different location due to operational considerations.
