Switzerland hasn’t received a request to host US-Iran signing ceremony — official

Switzerland has not received any information or official request to host a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US, a diplomatic official tells The Times of Israel.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the sides would attend a ceremony in Geneva on Friday.

Hosting a major event in Geneva on short notice would present a headache for Switzerland, as the countries at the G7 summit being held this week next door in Evian, France, are using their missions in Geneva as their logistical base for the event.

At the same time, the official says that if a request is made, Switzerland will in all likelihood know how to make the necessary arrangements for a signing ceremony.
