Tehran counterproposal could be ready in days, Iran’s FM says
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIran’s foreign minister says he expects to have a draft counterproposal ready within days.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi gave no specific timing on Iran’s counterproposal for US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, but says he believes a diplomatic deal was within reach and could be achieved “in a very short period of time.”
Araqchi adds that he expects to have a draft Iranian counterproposal ready in the next two or three days for top Iranian officials to review, with more US-Iran talks possible in a week or so.
Araqchi said a military option would only complicate efforts to reach a deal.
