UAE condemns Israeli strikes on Gaza

The United Arab Emirates has joined others condemning Israel for striking Gaza in a series of air attacks Tuesday, including bombings that left a number of civilians dead.

Abu Dhabi’s Foreign Ministry “called on Israeli authorities to halt escalation and avoid exacerbating tension and instability in the region,” the UAE’s state-run news agency says.

Israel say its bombing campaigns took out Islamic Jihad leaders responsible for attacks against Israelis and who were planning more assaults, as well as infrastructure and weapons stores used by the terror group.
