Thailand airport security raised as terror threat remains

Security at six airports in Thailand was raised to level three late Thursday night, as Israel warned Thai authorities that another attack might be in the making, the Bangkok Post reported.

Israel advised Thai authorities to tighten security at airports throughout the country, after intelligence gathering indicated more terror attacks might be carried out, the report said.

Earlier on Thursday the local Thai authorities said they were still on the search for at least two people suspected of being involved in the explosions on Tuesday, an incident which appears to be a failed attempt to target Israel’s diplomats in Thailand.

The attack in Bangkok was the third in a series of bombs aimed at Israeli delegates in various Asian countries. Earlier this week an attack took place against Israeli diplomats in New Delhi, injuring a female embassy employee, and yet another attack was thwarted in Tbilisi thanks to the awareness of a local driver.
