A Twitter message by billionaire Donald Trump directed at The Daily Show host Jon Stewart stirred up a viral storm, as some followers detected anti-Semitic sentiment in it.
Trump on Wednesday claimed he was “much smarter than Jonathan Leibowitz – I mean Jon Stewart,” adding the TV anchor was “totally overrated.”

A number of people claimed Trump’s tweet, in which he used Stewart’s birth-name, had an anti-Semitic undertone. Others mentioned the New York real estate mogul’s request that, during the presidential race, Barack Obama reveal his birth certificate to prove he was really born in the US.

“I knew you were more than just a racist. Proud of you for showing your anti-semitic stripes too,” tweeted Andy Lassner, producer of the Ellen DeGeneres show.
