Israeli marksman Sergey Richter on Friday won the gold medal in the 10-meter air rifle shooting competition at the European Championship in Odense, Denmark.
Richter, who came in ninth in the London Olympics, rose to the occasion this time and finished the tournament with a remarkable result of 207.3 points.
“I’m excited,” Richter said after his win. “I never thought I would win the European Championship. I came here in good shape, after two months of hard work in Russia with the Russian team and my new coach, and now I feel that every moment was worth it.”
