CENTCOM Commander Cooper says visit to USS Lincoln was ‘awe-inspiring’

The leader of US Central Command, Adm. Brad Cooper, says that his recent visit to the USS Lincoln was “awe-inspiring” and hails the crew’s “resilience” following reports of concerns about mental health and deteriorating conditions aboard the ship.
In a statement CENTCOM posts to X, Cooper says while prolonged service at sea is “uniquely challenging and tough,” he notes that the Lincoln had the lowest number of mental health cases of the Navy’s 11 active aircraft carriers, and praises the carrier’s leadership for prioritizing mental health and crew resilience.
